What We Do

Inside-Out Community Ventures is dedicated to holistic community transformation through vocational training, medical care, education, and sustainable agriculture. We work at the intersection of physical well-being, intellectual growth, and social unity — addressing root causes, not just symptoms.

Inside-Out takes a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of our communities — working to tackle the root causes of poverty while strengthening community systems from within. In recent years we have reached hundreds of people with comprehensive support and socioeconomic services across Zambia.

Medical Missions & Mobile Clinics

Medical Missions & Mobile Clinics

Our Mobile Clinics bring free, essential medical consultation, treatment, and education to remote, under-served communities in Africa that are completely cut off from formal healthcare facilities. By partnering with local district health offices, we operate as a vital safety net, delivering "just-in-time" intervention for emergency cases and chronic illnesses. Over the last 4 years, we have successfully treated over 500 patients, offering a lifeline to communities where none previously existed.

  • 500+ patients treated
  • 4 years of outreach
  • $700–$1,000 per clinic
  • Goal: $3,000 by June 2026

Education Outreach & School Initiatives

Education Outreach & School Initiatives

We believe every child has the right to quality education, regardless of location. In many rural Zambian communities, children face distance barriers and economic pressures, leading to low attendance rates. To enhance the local curriculum and prepare students for a digital future, we donated three computers to the local school and provide dedicated staff volunteering twice weekly, delivering curriculum-compliant computer literacy classes. Our goal is to transform community attitudes towards education and provide children with tangible skills for a better future.

  • 3 computers donated
  • Twice-weekly literacy classes
  • School supplies program
  • Curriculum-compliant teaching

Lulangilo Sports Tournament

Lulangilo Sports Tournament

In 2016, we identified a lack of organised recreational activities for youth and women in Munyama village. We started with a local women's netball match to foster community spirit — the overwhelming excitement revealed a massive demand for competitive sports. In May 2018, we formalised this passion into the Lulangilo (Tonga for "Hope") Sports Tournament. What began as a 1-match event has grown into an annual, anticipated tournament involving 12 community teams, uniting village leaders and residents and building hope and self-confidence.

  • 12 active community teams
  • Annual since May 2018
  • Grew from 2 to 12 teams
  • Hundreds of spectators

Our Girls Club — Make a Pad Campaign

Our Girls Club — Make a Pad Campaign

During our work in Munyama, we noticed that many girls lacked understanding of the changes taking place in their bodies. In this rural community, menarche is often mistakenly viewed as a sign of maturity, forcing girls into early marriage and premature school dropout. To break this barrier, the Our Girls Club empowers girls to make their own washable sanitary pads, ensuring they can attend school with dignity. Through our "Girls' Talk" sessions, we create a safe environment for mentorship, addressing the stigma around menstruation and tackling the root causes of early marriage. Our goal is to replace fear with knowledge and insecurity with empowerment.

  • Addresses school dropout

Food Security & Farming Initiatives

Food Security & Farming Initiatives

Over the years, we have been troubled to see many rural farmers in Munyama and surrounding villages losing their crops due to erratic weather — either too little rain or, in areas close to the lakeshore, waterlogged soil. To address this, we provide local farmers with a robust farming kit: a 0.5hp solar pump, 100 metres of poly pipe, and a solar panel. These solar kits offer a reliable, sustainable, long-term solution to hunger, empowering families to grow crops regardless of rain and turning subsistence farmers into entrepreneurs. Join us in this campaign by giving towards the fight against hunger in the communities we serve.

  • 0.5hp solar pump kits
  • 100m poly pipe & solar panel
  • Year-round crop cultivation
  • Subsistence to entrepreneur

Carpentry Skills — Munyama Training Centre

Carpentry Skills — Munyama Training Centre

Based in the remote community of Munyama, this project addresses the rising youth unemployment rate directly linked to climate change. With local fish stocks declining and fishing rig employment becoming unstable, young people urgently need alternative, sustainable income sources. In 2025, I.O.C.V in collaboration with Munyama Primary School established the area's first skills empowerment programme to provide vocational training. This project teaches fundamental carpentry skills to pupils, enabling them to transition from fishing-dependency to skilled craftsmanship. By the end of the programme, participants are able to produce marketable wood products, fostering local entrepreneurship.

Inter-generational Dialogues

Inter-generational Dialogues

This project facilitates inter-generational dialogues and community leadership meetings to bridge the knowledge gap between youth and elders. We bring together community and religious leaders to discuss pressing issues — such as early marriage, empowerment programmes, and economic opportunity — and create actionable solutions. By facilitating these conversations, the project directly influences community-level policy, empowering stakeholders to create a forward-thinking, resilient community.

Cultural Celebrations & Talent Empowerment

This project empowers rural artists in Munyama who often go unnoticed, turning their artistic gifts into a catalyst for development. We celebrate local traditions while actively addressing and replacing harmful cultural practices with dialogue-driven cultural events. Our initiative turns cultural events into opportunities for economic growth and social cohesion, providing a professional showcase for traditional music, drama, and dance, ensuring local talent is celebrated and sustained.
